He was predeceased by: his father Will Hughes; his daughter Carlotta "Carla" Moore; and his siblings, John Hughes, Leona Merriman and Sue Underwood.
He is survived by: his sons, Steve Hughes (Effie) of Morehouse, MO and Randy Hughes (Tammy) of Portageville, MO; his grandchildren, Joe Patrick, Tabitha Dumey, Carrie Beth Thacker, Ben Moore, Rachel Huggins, Cassidy Hughes and Gabe Hughes; and his great grandchildren, Hannah Patrick, Brock Patrick, McKayla Dumey, Maverick Moore, Blair Huggins, Levi Huggins, Mia Thacker, Ember Thacker and Eli Thacker.
