She was predeceased by: her parents, Harry Ray Kirk and Patricia Lucille Burtz Taylor; her stepfather Thomas J. Taylor Sr.; her son Stephen Beth; and her brother Ted Taylor.
She is survived by: her husband James Whatley of Mooresville; her children, Melissa Sheffield (Robert) of Ludlow, Mary Hughes (David) of Dawn and Kenneth Harris (Amy) of North Dakota; and her siblings, Lucretia Miller (Thomas) of Jacksonville and Thomas Taylor Jr. of Jacksonville, Florida.. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren.
