He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Claiborn (J. E.) and Melba Claiborn (Stutsman). He is survived by: his children, Michael Claiborn (Kimber) of Montreal, Marty Claiborn (Hali) of Montreal and Elisha Nelson (Matt) of Jasper, Missouri; his grandchildren, Ethan, Eli, Colt, Zaine, Wilder, Dakota, Hunter and Savannah; his great grandchildren, Laylie and Ophelia; and his sisters, Sandra Fry of Camdenton and Kelley McDaniel (Terry) of Montreal. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
