He was predeceased by: his parents, Andrew River and Amelia Caroline Sievert River; his former wife Fay Oliver River; his son-in-law David Polk; his siblings, Mildred Miller and Wesley River (Ruby); and his brothers-in-law, Thomas Riddle (Lora Dene), Jack Riddle (Arleen) and William Riddle.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Lou Riddle River of Montgomery City, MO; his children, Robert "Bob" Alan River (Debbie) of Hermann, MO and Beverly Ann River of O'Fallon, MO; his grandchildren, Kelsey River Anderson (Tyler) of Washington, MO, Johnna River Durbin (Jeff) of Weatherby Lake, MO and Cameron Polk of O'Fallon, MO; his great grandchildren, Lola, Lennon and Remi; his stepgrandchildren, David Polk (DJ), Eric Polk, Brandon Polk and Jaclyn Polk; and his sister-in-law Elaine River of Indiana. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.
