It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margaret Virginia Hays of Monroe City, Missouri, who passed away on May 27, 2023, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Lee and Margaret Mary Tewell (Spalding); her husband Benedict Joseph Hays (Bennie); her son Tony Hays; and her brother Harold Tewell.
She is survived by: her children, Harold Hays (Marcheta) of Palmyra, MO., Terry Hays (Carol) of Houston, TX., Mary Furman (John) of Hannibal, MO., Jeanne Jones (Steve) of Columbus, NE and Cecelia Hanlin (Tim) of Monroe City, MO.. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
