It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Gettis L Haynes Jr. of Monroe City, Missouri, born in Hannibal, Missouri, who passed away on November 7, 2023, at the age of 62, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Gettis Leroy Haynes Sr. and Wanda Lee Turner; and his son Anthony Haynes. He is survived by: his wife Julie Lynn Maddox; his daughters, Phyllis Hodges (Ronnie Wasson) and Jenna "Bug" Haynes (Marcus Lilley); his siblings, Eugene Haynes and Linda Mae Witthuhm (Mike); his grandchildren, Kyle Wasson, Jasmine Wasson, Zoey Wasson, Mason Wasson, Ashlynn Wasson, Wyatt Wasson, Adilynn Lilley and Madilynn Lilley; his godchildren, Arianna Morgan and Freya Morgan; and his niece Lacy Richmond. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.
