He was predeceased by: his parents, Artus Shipman and Martha Shipman. He is survived by: his wife Carol Eyvonne Swanson; his children, Terry Alan Shipman (Lori-Lin), Mia Lin, Leslie Antionette Brown, Gregory Allen, Chloe Nicole, Heather Anne Merrill (Matt Ross) and Madelyn Hope; and his sister Linda Sue Ruark of Indiana. He is also survived by his three children, and four grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations go to First Baptist Church, Cassville, Missouri.
