He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Hobart Phipps and Zeffi Ethel Baker Phipps; his wife Virginia Maxine Garris of Monett; and his daughter Gale. He is survived by: his daughter Beverly Marie Phipps of Texas; and his sister Doris Dean of Nevada. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Lung Association or to Ovarian or Pancreatic Cancer Research.
