He was predeceased by: his grandparents, C. E., Lugene Atwell and Frank Woodruff; and his pet Julie. He is survived by: his parents, David Sims and Susan Sims (Atwell); his significant other Sue Carlile; his son Ian; and his siblings, Kristin Umfleet (Roger) of Monett, Tiffany Cavazos (Tomas) of Monett and Tyler Sims of Monett.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to his son, Ian.
