He was predeceased by: his parents, Claude Wheeler and Garnett Wheeler (Williamson); his wife Connie Sue Smith; his sisters, Dorothy Miller and Thressea Moss; his nephews, Roger Louis Christy and Daryll Ryan Nickerson; and his niece Brenda Fletcher.

He is survived by: his daughters, April Teel (John) of Moberly, MO and Heather Wheeler of Columbia, MO; his grandchildren, Jay Richter, Whitney Richter, Destiny Teel, Ambrose Teel and Jeramia Teel; his great grandchildren, Ava Teter-Mikel, Jamison Richter, Abigale Richter and Wynter Teter; and his sisters, Catherine Wright Justice of Moberly, MO, Roxanne Nickerson of Madison, MO, Donna Wray (Claire Edward) of Macon, MO and Deborah Inskip of Stratford, MO. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
