She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest Humes and Rhea Stevenson Humes of Wyaconda, MO.; her husband Bob Varnold of Keokuk, IA; her son Darrell Gene Varnold; and her siblings, Joseph "A. J." Humes, James Humes, Mary Fleer, Laverne Humes and Alfred Humes.
She is survived by: her sons, Robert Lee Varnold Jr. (Robyn) of Anaheim, CA and Curtis Varnold (Carla) of Parker, CO; her grandchildren, Nathan Varnold, Rebecca Varnold, Amy Idowu, Miriam Miller, Jonathan Varnold, Justin Curcio, Joshua Varnold, Ashley Varnold, Sarah Varnold, Dakota Varnold, Amber Turpin and Lacy McCormick; and her siblings, Ernest "Doc" Humes and Dora Fogle. She is also survived by twenty-three great grandchildren.
