She was predeceased by: her parents, William "Bill" Neal and Gracie Lee Crutchfield; her daughter Shauna Hoefelman; and her siblings, Ted Neal, Willard "Buddy" Neal, Jimmy Neal, Johnny Neal, Bobby Neal, Pearlie "Weegie" Smith, Bessie Thurman, Thelma Noel and Laura "Dollie" Brooks.
She is survived by: her husband Vernon Sumpter; and her children, Vernon "Dean" Sumpter (Lisa) of Moberly, Anthony "Tony" Sumpter (Marjean) of Englewood, MO and Lana Willingham (Eric) of Moberly. She is also survived by seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
In Lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
