He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert and Ida Hoppe; his brother-in-law Harry Paasch (Christa); his son-in-law Stan Petrov (Ann); and his siblings-in-law, Karl-Heinz, Gerhard, Günter, Otto, Adolf Witthöft, Richard Roßbach, Irving Krieger and Edda Witthöft (Günter).
He is survived by: his family Germany; his wife Hildegard; his children, Ann Hoppe Petrov and Ralph Hoppe (Sarah); his grandchildren, Andrew Hoppe (Allison) of Highland Park, Illinois, Krista Lawson (Corey) of Columbia, Illinois, Ethan Hoppe (Callie) of Loveland, Colorado and Annalie Hoppe of Searcy, Arkansas; his great grandchildren, Dylan and Cameron Hoppe; his grandchildren, Kai, Christopher, Brooks Lawson and Duke Hoppe; his sister Christa Paasch; and his sisters-in-law, Ilse Krieger (Irving), Hermine Roßbach (Richard), Marie-Louise Michaelis (Siegfried), Ingrid Witthöft (Gerhard), Mariechen Witthöft (Otto) and Erika Witthöft (Adolph). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
