He was predeceased by: his brother Edward Lee Mitchell; his grandparents, Finis, Lareen Prather, Robert and Clara Mitchell; his parents-in-law, Jerome and Mary Jane Fleming; and his brother-in-law Roy Dale.
He is survived by: his children, Brad Mitchell of White House, Chad Mitchell (Carrie) of Independence and Amy Arens (Michael) of Columbia, Missouri.; his grandchildren, Audrey Denise Mitchell, James Ryan Mitchell, Brinley Michelle Arens and Blake Lesley Arens; his sisters, Corene Dale of Cairo and Erma Jean Armstrong (Carl) of Moberly, Missouri.; and his brother-in-law Jerry Fleming of Columbia. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Family Life Fellowship Dream Center.
