He was loved and cherished by many people including: his former wife Velma Everly; his son Richard Lee Lewis Walton of Santa Cruz, California.; his wife Margaret Ann Norman; his children, Jacquelyn Bernice Thompson (Paul) of Urbandale, Deborah Ann Lewis of Columbia and Randy Lynn Cropp (Rosie) of Aurora; and his cousin Marilyn Joyce Worley.
