With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Gary Sumpter of Moberly, Missouri, who passed away on October 27, 2022. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife June Conway; and his siblings, Elnora Duncan, Wayland, Jr., Billy, Adrian and Gerald Sumpter.
He is survived by: his children, Robert "Rob" Sumpter (Cristine) of Jefferson City, Kathryn "Kathy" Sumpter of Moberly and Cherita "Cheri" Williams (Michael) of Springfield; the mother of his children Virginia Carter of Huntsville; his stepchildren, Donna Taylor (Carl) of Moberly, Brenda Garbulski (Craig) of Moberly, Shelly Raymann, Junior Johnson of Macon and Michael Hershey of Higbee; his brothers, Jack Sumpter of Renick, Vernon Sumpter of Higbee and Russell Sumpter of Madison; and his extended family, Gary and June. He is also survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
