He was predeceased by: his wife Lela Hess (Jansen); and his siblings, Richard "Buck" Hess, Raymond Hess, Charles Hess, Billy Joe Hess, Judy Hess and Bernice Taylor.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Barnes (Shari) of Higbee, Angel Stuphin (Randy) of Moberly and Vicky Hess of Moberly; his grandchildren, Ashley, Chris Jones, Julie, Alex Wilson, Stephanie, Eric Schupp, Jessica Smith and Mark Hess; and his siblings, Kenny Hess (Velma) of Moberly, Jerry Hess of Moberly and Connie Agler (Bob) of Higbee. He is also survived by 6 great grandchildren, nieces, nephew, other relatives and friends.
