Beverly Lay Obituary

Beverly Lay, 79, of Moberly, passed away Friday, September 29, 2023. She was born November 6, 1943, in Columbia, to the union of Oran Ernest and Juanita Kehoe (Boggs) Patrick.

She worked for over forty years at Dupont in the shipping department she took great pride in her job and could be considered a workaholic and very determined. In her free time she loved animals, crossword puzzles, spending time with family and friends.

Beverly is survived by her son Alan Lay and his significant other Melissa, of Moberly, 5 grandchildren, Chris Persinger, Ashley Kimbrough, Patrick Lay, Alyssa Lay, and Aleigha Lay, 2 great grandchildren, Braydon Alan Lay, and Braxton Blakeslee, brothers, Jerry Patrick and his wife JoElla of Moberly, Duane Hombs and his wife Barb of Hawk Point, Tim Patrick and his wife Jeri of Moberly, sisters Kathy Bartolacci and her husband David of Higbee, and Teresa Ellliott and her husband Brad of Moberly, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, a son Jeffrey Kimbrough, brothers Larry Hombs and Richard Patrick.

In lieu of flowers the family suggest memorials to either Parkison's Foundation, Alzheimer's Foundation, or Moberly Animal Shelter.

Words of comfort and support may be shared with the family at a visitation to be held Monday, October 2, 2023, 4-7 pm, in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services honoring and celebrating Beverly's life will be Tuesday, October 3, 2023, 1pm, in the Cater Funeral Home Chapel. Committal prayer and burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
