He was predeceased by: his parents, Ferd Skaggs and Abagail Skaggs (Cover); his former wife Iva Skaggs (Gamble); his wife Mildred Skaggs (Dobbs); his stepsons, Earl "Keeter" Skaggs (Marilyn) and Curt Skaggs; his granddaughter Misha Pyatt; and his siblings, Pearl Skaggs, Wilburn Skaggs, Percy Skaggs and Ruby Gibson.
He is survived by: his children, Roger Skaggs (Diana) and Midge Pyatt (Danny); his grandchildren, Kelly Pyatt, Chanda Bond (Jeff), Kenny Pyatt (Liz), Shaunna Linton (Michael), Michelle Skaggs, Anita Benson (Joe), James Skaggs (Amanda) and Kerri Skaggs; and his daughter-in-law Jeannie Skaggs. He is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
