He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilburn Edward Smith and Rose Marie "Keller" Smith; his siblings, Zettie Smith and Bobby Joe Smith; and his stepchildren, Charlie Jones and John Fitzgerald.
He is survived by: his wife Ruby Edwards; his children, Leo Smith of Alabama and Connie Smith of Alabama; his stepchildren, Mike Jones (Tabby) of Chaffee, Missouri and Charlene Fitzgerald of Hollister, Missouri; and his siblings, Larry "Donnie" Smith (LaDonna) of Frohna, Gary Dale Smith of Jackson, Missouri, Brenda McClain of Oran and Patsy Smith of Oak Ridge, Missouri. He is also survived by four grandsons; eight step-grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and give step-great children.
