He was predeceased by: his parents, Manuel O'Dell and Josephine O'Dell (Fiscus); and his siblings, Joseph O'Dell and Ella Rose O'Dell. He is survived by: his sons, Jon O'Dell (Karen) of Sikeston and Jeff O'Dell (Erica) of Jackson; his sisters, Sonya O'Dell of Marble Hill and Francis Campbell (Mike) of Millersville; and his former wife Pauline O'Dell of Patton.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
