He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Elbert and Ella Barker (Culver); his siblings, Dora Nicholson, Georgia Morris, Charles, Rollo, Lynn, Oscar and Billy Barker; and his stepdaughter Brenda Merrick.
He is survived by: his wife Bonnie Merrick (Duke); his children, Michael Barker (Sarah) of Milford, Michigan and Shari Barker of Denver, Colorado; and his stepchildren, David Merrick (Tami) of Willard, Missouri, Gilda Hendrix (Cloyce) of Miller and Donna Forhman (Leo) of Springfield, Missouri. He is also survived by six step grandchildren; 15 step great-grandchildren and three step great-great grandchildren.
