It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Norma Eleanor Ayers (Milan, Missouri), who passed away on January 28, 2025, at the age of 92, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Chester L. Downing and Lula Lloyd Downing; and her husband Bill (Bill). She is survived by: her children, Doug (Barb) of Danville, Kristy (Larry Letner) of Harris and Rick (Jonna) of Green City, Missouri.; her grandchildren, Grant, Kate Neckermann, Kathleen Ayers, Hannah, Dr. Killen Day, Dr. Lindsay, Parker Rice, Will, Ashton Letner, Dr. Jake, Jaime Letner, Natalie, Bryce Fifer and Zachary Ayers; her great grandchildren, Ford, Grace Neckermann, Lily, Colin Rice, Liam, Joel, Emmy, Annie Letner, Wyatt and Jessa Letner; and her sister-in-law Willadean Lawrence. She is also survived by four nieces and a nephew.
Visitation was held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ruschmeier-Smith Funeral Home (2 W 5th St, Green City, MO 63545). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 2:00 PM at the Green City Presbyterian Church (108 Sherman St, Green City, MO 63545).
In lieu of flowers, the family has suggested memorials to the Green City Presbyterian Church, Green City Saddle Club or Green City Cemetery.
