He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Morningstar and Katherine Morningstar (Howard); and his siblings, Carl Morningstar Jr., Dale Morningstar, Norma Lane and Josie Morningstar.
He is survived by: his children, Carl Morningstar (Katie) of Middletown and Jolene Gilbert (Michael) of Bellflower; his grandchildren, Laura Melling, Mary Smith, Makayla Johnson, Harold Johnson, Cheyenne Everson, Jason Brown and Cherokee Johnson; his sister Nola Morgan of New Paris, Ohio; and his former wife Susie Melling (Lloyd). He is also survived by 19 great grandchildren.
