It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Delmar Norbert Nilges of Mexico, Missouri, born in Saint Thomas, Missouri, who passed away on March 28, 2024, at the age of 84, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Nilges and Sarah Nilges (Gerling); and his siblings, Marcellus Joseph Nilges, Linus Henry Nilges, Melvin Fredric Nilges, Delores Mary Nilges and Gilbert Fredric Nilges.
He is survived by: his children, Jorg Nilges of Rockford, IL, Uta Abate (Nilges), John Abate of Winnebago, IL, Rebecca Seaton (Nilges), Gary Seaton of Belvidere, IL, Robert, Julie Nilges (Dakarian) of Florida, Melba Lightcap (Nilges) and Scott Lightcap of Crystal River, FL; his grandchildren, Corey Seaton, Branton Lightcap, Derek Seaton, Trevor Lightcap, Taylor Parlapiano-Miucci and Layla Seaton; and his great grandchildren, Blakely Rose-Marie Miuccio and Willow Lee Lightcap. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and sister in-laws.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that all memorial contributions in honor of Delmar are made to the Mexico Veterans Home at 1 Veterans Dr. Mexico, MO 65265.
