He was predeceased by: his father Charlie Tewell; and his stepparents, Sam Massey and Betty Tewell. He is survived by: his mother Mildred Sandifer Tewell Massey of Quincy, Illinois; his children, Becky Spurlin (Tony), Larry Matthew Tewell (Matt) and Charles Larry Tewell Jr. (Chip); and his half-sister Cindy Hammock (Terry). He is also survived by seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Monday, December 16th 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Garner Funeral Home (315 N Vine St, Monroe City, MO 63456). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, December 17th 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Garner Funeral Chapel (315 N Vine St, Monroe City, MO 63456).
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the VA Home in Mexico, Missouri, or to Holy Family Catholic Church, Hannibal, Missouri, in care of the Garner Funeral Home and Chapel.
