He was predeceased by: his parents, Glenn Courtney and Clara Swyers Courtney; his brother Joe Courtney; his nieces, Schontelle Matheny and Jennifer Courtney; and his nephew John Brown.
He is survived by: his son Jerry Courtney of Meta; and his siblings, Robert "Bob" Courtney (Bonnie) of Highland Park, IL, Connie Wallen (Al) of Meta, MO and Nell Brown (Bob) of Meta, MO. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
