He was predeceased by: his wife Tanya Chowning (Gore); his father Robert Dawson Chowning; his brothers-in-law, Russell Grant and Gary Diehl; his niece Jessica Diehl; his nephew Jamie Hughes; and his parents-in-law, Harold and Beverly Gore.
He is survived by: his mother Betty Jean Chowning (Myers) of Brookfield, MO; his sons, Eliot Dawson Chowning (Cheryl) of Anchorage, AK and Evan Isaac Chowning (Karolyn) of Oklahoma City, OK; his grandchildren, William Chowning, Dexter Chowning, Jaxson Chowning, Nadiya Chowning and Aloysious Chowning; his siblings, Bobby Dean Chowning, Barbara Jean Grant, Ronald Bruce Chowning (Patsy) and Diana Lynn Diehl; and his stepchildren, Rob Kerkmann, Kim Kerkmann and Jason Kerkmann.
In lieu of flowers the family requests memorial donations to be made to Wharton Cemetery.
