She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, James Creek and Amy Maxine Crook; her adoptive father Herbert L. Thomson; her husband David Terry Hayes; her son James; her brother Michael; her sons, Sam Hayes (Shelly) of Pekin, IL and Anthony Hayes (Deirdre) of East Peoria, IL; and her siblings, Dick Thomson (Ardith) of Memphis and Sandy Harrison (Gary) of Alexandria. She was also cherished by nine grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren (with one on the way); 2 step great grandchildren; along with several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
