He was predeceased by: his parents, Virgil Everett and Mary "Vi" Simmons (Kobbe); his stepfather Willie Downey; and his brothers, Burl Dale, Victor Rae and Virgil Galen Simmons.
He is survived by: his wife Judy Frances Sherrow; his children, Shawn McCullough (Dave) of Platte City and Scott Simmons (Natasha) of Roeland Park, KS; his grandchildren, Kyle, Connor McCullough, Kaleb, Meili and Kaeson Simmons; and his sister-in-law Susie Simmons.
