He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, James Arthur and Ethel Carter (Morse); his former wife Mildred Pauline Allen; his wife Lois Acklin; and his stepchildren, Lorinda Wente, Patricia Myers (Frank), Kim Patterson (Rex), Howard Acklin (Janet) and Anita Gerhart (Chris). He was also cherished by three children, five step-children, eight grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and several step-grandchildren.
