He is survived by: his parent Catherine "Katie" Schaffer (Otto); his spouse Carol Bungart; his children, Alan Schaffer (Sheila) of Jefferson City, Aaron Schaffer (Erin) of St. Anthony, Karen Gabelsberger (Brad) of Frankenstein, Adam Schaffer (Kim) of Clinton, Kristy Schaffer and James McMahan of Arlington; his grandchildren, Avery Schaffer, Evan Schaffer, Savannah Schaffer, Everett Schaffer, Andrea Schaffer, Ariel Schaffer, Miranda Gabelsberger, Wyatt Gabelsberger, Kathryn Schaffer, Alyssa Schaffer and Henry Schaffer; his sister Josephine Macdonald of Alexandria; and his brother-in-law Clarence Brenneke of Jefferson City.
