He was predeceased by: his parents, Stephen Welschmeyer and Eunice Welschmeyer (Arens); his son Garrett Welschmeyer; his parents-in-law, Wesley DeTienne and Joan DeTienne; and his siblings-in-law, Randall DeTienne, Wesley DeTienne, Charlie Robinson, Joann Marie DeTienne and Barbara Jean Welschmeyer.

He is survived by: his wife Sharon Welschmeyer (DeTienne) of Martinsburg; his children, Gen Welschmeyer (Christopher Jollen) of Mexico, Sarah Dunnavant (Brandon) of Taos and Mark Welschmeyer (Amanda) of Auxvasse; his grandchildren, Garrett, Charlene Welschmeyer, Braylynn, Delaney, Davyn, Brynnleigh and Delilah Dunnavant; and his siblings, Valerie Doerr (Steve) of Joplin, Vickie Robinson of Montgomery City, Venita Thomas (Rick) of Mexico, Darrell Welschmeyer (Pam Stuart) of Martinsburg and Vanessa Kerr (James) of Mexico. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, the St. Joseph Catholic School Trust Fund, St. Joseph Catholic School, or a charity of the donor's choice.
