He was predeceased by: his wife Annabel; his parents, Royal and Gladys; his brother Donald Gessley; his son Bruce Charles Gessley; and his sister-in-law Margaret Hartman.

He is survived by: his sons, Daniel Irving Gessley (Margaret Jo) and Glen Royal Gessley (Kristin); his daughter-in-law Patricia Lee Gessley; his sister-in-law Elizabeth Gessley; his grandchildren, Michael Gessley (Kristy), Amy Klein (John), Travis Gessley (Nicole), Brian Gessley (Christine), Scott Gardner (Dixie) and Lisa Donovan (Dan); and his great grandchildren, Laura, Taylor, Breckyn, Tanner, Isabel, Addison, Noah, Gavin, Reece, Austin and Ryan. He is also survived by other relatives and many friends.
