He is survived by: his wife Patty Lee Shaw; his daughters, Kate Reese, Lydia Bollinger (Bert) and Amanda Voelkerding (James); his grandchildren, Cameron, Dani, Gabby, Zesa and Alexander; his siblings, Rosalie Kluesner, Clyde Voelkerding (Cathie), Laverne DuMond (John), Carolyn Brandt (Roland), Jean Ifrid (Bob), Royce Voelkerding and Linda Wagner; and his sister-in-law Betty Emberg (Ron).
Memorial donations are preferred to St Vincent DePaul School.
