He was predeceased by: his parents, Eugene Hurt and Edna Rhoten; his wife Beverly "Kay" Rhoten (Richards); his grandson Jacob Chaffin; and his siblings, Shirley Ward and Jackie Hurt.
He is survived by: his children, Tracy Pinion, Sheila Rhoten and Tommy Rhoten; and his siblings, Ron Hurt, Judy Little and Sharlene "Boo" Hurt. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; one great granddaughter.
