He was predeceased by: his parents, Dillard Layne and Birtee Layne (Clayton); his children, Vicki Giorgetti and Rick Layne; his sisters, Thelma Hargus and Rosalie Rosenberger; and his parents-in-law, Glynn and Ruby Vandall.

He is survived by: his wife Patsy Vandall; his granddaughter Chelsea Hellquist; and his nephews, Mike Rosenberger and Donald "Buddy" Hargus.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Marshfield Church of Christ Building Fund.
