He was predeceased by: his parents, Joe R. Smith and Clema Smith (Hightower); his brother Don Hightower; and his granddaughter Jaden Smith. He is survived by: his wife Carole; his children, Kevin Smith, Kim Smith, Jeremy Smith, Stacy Atkison, Doug Atkison and Angela Dormish (Atkison); and his siblings, Mary Helen Wallace, JoAnn Ligon and David Smith. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, family and friends.
