It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Rita Fern Mitchell of Marshall, Missouri, who passed away on March 21, 2025, at the age of 98, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Bernie J. Barker and Olive Crockett Barker; her spouse Harley W. Mitchell; her children, Chuck Mitchell and Carol Ann Mitchell; her great grandchild Caroline Ann Kelsey; and her siblings, Roy, Merle, David Barker and Rose Carolyn Oster.
She is survived by: her children, Dana Brown (Bill) of Surprise, AZ, Harley Dale Mitchell (Deborah) of Sherman, TX and Debra Mitchell of Warsaw, MO; her daughter-in-law Kit Mitchell of Slater, MO; her brother Jake Barker (Jo Ann) of Wellington, MO; and her sister-in-law Dixie Waters Barker of Waterville, MN. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren.
