He was loved and cherished by many people including: his father Melvin Gerlt (Shirley); his children, Lurenda Albright of Kansas City, MO, Patricia Clontz (Brian) of Reynoldsville, PA and Travis Gerlt of Marshall; his grandsons, Joseph Clontz and Gabriel Gerlt; his sister Diane Morris (Dale) of Marshall; and his mother Phyllis Ann Dunsmore Gerlt.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society in care of Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall.
