In the sacred silence of farewell, Laura is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. She was predeceased by: her parents, Colonel John A. Meeks and Margaret Taylor Meeks. She is survived by: her brothers, John Harold Meeks and William Donald Meeks; her niece Donna Meeks Stallsmith; her friend Jeannie Lindler; her husband Dan Festa; her son Ben Festa; and her sister-in-law Anne W. Meeks of Winterville, NC. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and several great great nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 25th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Westminister Presbyterian Church (2155 University Ave, Dubuque, IA 52001).
In lieu of flowers and due to Laura's love of helping others and generosity, memorials can be sent to one of her favorite groups: Cottey College, Nevada, MO, Ashley Hall, Charleston, SC, Alzheimer's Foundation.
