He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Rupert and Ella Katheryn Mitchell (Sims); his brother Charles Harrison Mitchell; his siblings-in-law, Michael David Ruhl and Anita Gray; and his niece Sarah Ruhl Ricci.
He is survived by: his wife Vicki Sue Acklie; his children, Todd Acklie Mitchell (Carrie) of St. Louis, MO and Erin Wynn Madden (Scott) of O'Fallon, MO; his sister Jean Ann Ruhl of Kansas City, MO; his grandsons, Christopher Joseph Madden of O'Fallon and Owen Patrick Madden of O'Fallon; and his siblings-in-law, Cinda James (Terry), Neal Acklie (PJ) and Tim Gray of Kahoka, MO.. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
