He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas A. Carroll and Ellie McCrohan Carroll; his siblings, John Carroll, Patrick Carroll, Tom Carroll, Maurice Carroll and Mary Frances Dessent; his son-in-law Jeff Brown; and his sister-in-law Ellen Malone.

He is survived by: his wife Marie Holmes; his children, Maureen Brown of Los Angeles, CA, Christine Neidt (Jeff) of Lee's Summit, MO, Bridget Carroll of Jefferson City, MO, Lisa Hartwig (Matt) of Liberty, MO, Peggy Sherman (Randy) of Marshall, MO, Timothy Carroll of Overland Park, KS and Kevin Carroll of Rayville, MO; and his grandchildren, Ben Hartwig, Maggie Sherman, Ellie Hartwig, Jack Neidt, Olivia Neidt, Nicholas Brown, Zoe Sherman, Hannah Brown, Caitlin Hartwig, Mimi Sherman and Sam Sherman. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
