He was predeceased by: his sister Alice Ann Best. He is survived by: his spouse Carol Ann Roberson Blackburn; his children, John Lee Best (Beth) of St. Louis and Michelle Hilburn (David) of Blue Springs; his grandchildren, Greta Best and Holden Best; his stepchildren, Mary Ogden of Overland Park, KS and Jonathan Brown (Miriam); his stepgrandchildren, Tristan Jacobs, Hayden Placey and Quickening Brown; his siblings, Dollie Hesse of Franklin, MN and Don Best (Susan) of Independence; his nephew Jeffrey Best; and his niece Stephanie Best.
