He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Hardin Thomas and Mabel Barton Thomas; his wife Nora A. Davis; and his siblings, Charles, John L., Clifford Thomas, Grace Walker and Margaret Aulgur.
He is survived by: his children, James H. "Jim" Thomas Jr. (Rosie) of Marshall, Loretta Sassmann (Dale) of Marshall, Janice Aulgur (Paul) of Marshall and Richard Thomas of Kansas City; his grandchildren, Jacob Thomas, Della James (Daniel), Brandy Scott, Betsy Dierker, Jessica Thompson, Joanie Renzelman (Travis) and Mabel Thomas; and his sister Irene Sims of Marshall. He is also survived by 19 great-grandchildren; three great-great- grandchildren.
