He was predeceased by: his parents, Everett Sowder and Ruby Mildred Sowder (Darr); his wife Wanda Nichols; his son Robert; and his brother Raymond Sowder.
He is survived by: his children, Freddy Sowder, Jr. (Stacie) of Trenton, Missouri and Linda Sowder of Chillicothe, Missouri; his brother Keith Sowder of San Antonio, Texas; and his stepsiblings, Rex, Jimmy, Eloise and Helen. He is also survived by five grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
