He was predeceased by: his parents, Lula McFall Hartley and William Thomas Hartley; and his siblings, Ruby Lassa, Ruth Jacobs, Rhea Morgan, Tommie Weaver, Georgie Hall, Mary Moore and Billy Hartley.

He is survived by: his wife Jane; his sons, Kevin (Terri), Mark (Kate), Todd (Wendy) and David (Leigh); his grandchildren, Brian, Eric, Paul, Regan, Rachel, Jake, Sarah, Nick, Quinn, Carli, Kate, Abbey, Anna, Riley and Jade; and his sisters, June Sargent and Betty Smith. He is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests that memorials be made to First Christian Church of Marshall or the Marshall Kiwanis Club.
