He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Fredrick Werneke and Thelma Sue Houchen Werneke; his wife Norma Ann Jenkins; and his brothers, James, Charles and Douglas Werneke.
He is survived by: his children, Larry Werneke (Marty) of Warrensburg, Bill Werneke (Sherry) of Nelson, Nancy Anderson (Chris) of Wichita, KS and Linda Edwards (Barry) of Lenexa, KS; and his grandchildren, Scott Werneke, Mike Werneke, Bobby Werneke (Sara), Jeremy Werneke (Rochelle), Adrianna Werneke, Sydney Sinor (Jordan), Madison Boyer, Josh Edwards (Jamie) and Jacob Edwards (Heather Offutt). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren; as well as nieces, nephews and other extended family.
