She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Christopher S. Owens and Edith Owens (Williams); her spouse Bennie; her children, Lee Thornton (Sandy) of Springfield, MO, Rev. Ron Thornton (Bonnie) of Shawnee Mission, KS, Catherine Brodie (Michael) of Independence, MO, David Lee Winnie (Anna Marie) of Ft. Myers, FL and Linda McCale (David Leon) of Belton, MO; and her sisters, Iona Ruth Mattox of Warsaw, MO and Judy May Lake. She was also cherished by twelve grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
