He was predeceased by: his parents, Cleveland Jewell and Nora M. Davis Jewell; his wife Nancy Jo Hibdon; his son Scott Jewell; his stepson Jeff Houchen; and his siblings, Ruby, Norman, Newman, Gordon, Jeannie, Eldon, Sue, Bobby and Willie.

He is survived by: his granddaughters, Madolyn Jewell of St. Louis, MO and Lydia Jewell of St. Louis, MO; his close friend Joyce West of Versailles, MO; and his nephew Bobby Jewell (Lisa) of Marshall. He is also survived by several other nieces and nephews.
